零点几 = kurang daripada satu juta

Nombor 0.306 juta kurang daripada satu juta. Sifar sebelum titik masih dibaca líng, kemudian diǎn. Tiga digit selepas titik, iaitu 3, 0 dan 6, disebut satu per satu.

Contoh: 0.527 juta dibaca líng diǎn wǔ èr qī bǎi wàn.

Awas: Jangan buang sifar di hadapan lalu mengalihkan titik, dan jangan baca 06 sebagai satu nombor.

零点几 = less than one million

The number 0.306 million is less than one million. The zero before the point is still read líng, followed by diǎn. The three digits after the point, 3, 0 and 6, are spoken one by one.

Example: 0.527 million is read líng diǎn wǔ èr qī bǎi wàn.

Watch out: Do not drop the leading zero and shift the point, and do not read 06 as a single number.

读小数 = dua sifar selepas titik

读小数 = two zeros after the point

The whole part is 8. After the point there are three digits: 0, 0 and 9. Each zero is spoken as líng on its own before the 9.

Example: 1.003 million is read yī diǎn líng líng sān bǎi wàn.

Watch out: Leaving out the zeros turns it into a much larger number. Two zeros need two líng.

写小数 = dua digit perpuluhan

Jiǔ ialah nombor bulat 9. Selepas diǎn, hanya dua digit didengar: sì dan èr. Tulis kedua-duanya mengikut urutan tanpa menambah apa-apa di antaranya.

Jiǔ is the whole number 9. After diǎn only two digits are heard: sì and èr. Write both in order without adding anything between them.

Example: Wǔ diǎn sān qī bǎi wàn is written 5.37 million.

Watch out: There is no líng in this reading, so do not slip a 0 in front of or between the digits.

Sān is the whole number 3. After diǎn the digits heard are líng, qī and wǔ. Type the decimal point, then those three digits in order, keeping the zero.

Example: Liù diǎn líng sì èr bǎi wàn is typed 6.042.

Watch out: Dropping the zero after the point gives a bigger, wrong number.

读小数 = Membaca perpuluhan juta

Baca bahagian sebelum titik perpuluhan seperti nombor biasa, kemudian sebut diǎn (titik). Selepas titik perpuluhan, setiap digit disebut satu demi satu mengikut susunan. Digit 0 di tempat persepuluh juga mesti disebut líng, kerana ia mengubah nilai nombor. Akhir sekali sebut bǎi wàn (juta).

读小数 = Reading decimals of a million

Read the part before the decimal point like a normal number, then say diǎn (point). After the decimal point, say every digit one by one in order. The 0 in the tenths place must also be said as líng, because it changes the value. Finally say bǎi wàn (million).

Example: Example: 2.08 million is read 'èr diǎn líng bā bǎi wàn', two point zero eight million.

Watch out: Do not drop the zero after the decimal point; 4.6 and 4.06 are different values.

Count how many digits are said after the word diǎn (point). That count must equal the number of decimal places in the correct number. Then check the order of the digits one by one, including any líng (zero) in the hundredths place.

Example: Example: 'èr diǎn sì líng liù bǎi wàn' matches 2.406 million because three digits follow the point.

Watch out: Do not choose a number whose count of decimal places differs from the reading.

写人口数 = Menulis populasi dalam perpuluhan juta

A reading that starts with 'líng diǎn' shows the population is less than one million, so the whole number part is zero. After the decimal point, count how many digits are said. That count is the number of decimal places, and no extra zero may be slipped in if líng was not said.

Example: Example: 'líng diǎn liù èr bǎi wàn' people is written as 0.62 million people.

Watch out: Do not add a 0 in the middle if líng was not said after diǎn.
