Galaksi ialah sistem jasad langit yang sangat besar, terbentuk daripada berbilion bintang, debu dan gas yang terikat oleh graviti. Galaksi Bima Sakti terdiri daripada bintang, gugusan bintang dan nebula. Bima Sakti ialah galaksi berpilin yang berbentuk seperti cakera, tebal sedikit di tengah, dengan lengan yang melengkung keluar.
Contoh: Bima Sakti kelihatan seperti pusaran air apabila dilihat dari atas.

A galaxy is a huge system of heavenly bodies formed from billions of stars, dust and gas held together by gravity. The Milky Way is made up of stars, star clusters and nebulae. The Milky Way is a spiral galaxy shaped like a disc, slightly thicker in the middle, with curved arms spreading outwards.
Example: Seen from above, the Milky Way looks like a whirlpool.
Watch out: Two words in the box are not used.

The solar system lies on one of the arms of the Milky Way, about two thirds of the way from the centre of the galaxy. The tiny mung bean compared with the large basketball court shows that the solar system is very small compared with the Milky Way.
Example: The mung bean is barely visible on the court.
Watch out: The solar system is not at the centre of the Milky Way.
